The mission of Kent Price Wines is to produce limited quantities of high quality wines that capture the character of special sites and the nuance of each growing season. Cabernet Sauvignon and the historic Rutherford vineyard uncovered by Rudy and Kent for Kent Price Cabernet Sauvignon Pulse remains the marquis selection in our portfolio. Yet with the rapidly expanding market and a new wine drinkers coming on board every day we were motivated to broaden our scope by including a select series of wines emulating the model created and preserved of the southern Rhone Valley with a California twist.
The decision was made during the 2011 vintage to source fruit from specific blocks in the vineyard surrounding our state-of-the-art winery poached high in the eastern hills of Napa Valley and overlooking Pritchard Hill. From these blocks we would produce a California inspired southern Rhone style blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah and a dash of Zinfandel. Now known as Venant du Coeur (From the Heart) this very stylistic 2011 red blend debuted in fall 2014. The 2013 white counterpart Venant du Coeur Blanc was produced with fruit sourced from California's white Rhone varietal stronghold in Santa Barbara County.
We see a great future for both of the Venant du Coeur wines to grow in popularity alongside our highly regarded Cabernet Sauvignon Pulse.
